Colorado Freedom of Information Laws

In 1969, inspired by the FOIA, the Colorado legislature passed the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA). In 1972, they passed the Colorado Sunshine Law for open meetings which they further modified in 1996. CORA does much the same as the FOIA, records are presumed to be public unless deemed otherwise by specific exemptions.

The World is not Ending due to Legalized Pot

The picture being painted in Colorado is actually a far cry better than anyone even expected before legalization. In Denver, where the majority of dispensaries are, crime, of both the violent and property varieties, is actually down. It is true that some children have been admitted to hospitals from complications arising due to consumption of cannabis edibles, nine in all this year. This number is up from the previous year prior to legalization, but it is hardly indicative of a “trend”.
